Festival Updates · Volunteer & Community Gathering

This Friday at 6:30 PM, we gather at At Doa’s as we begin the public lead-up to the first edition of the Uncolonial Film Festival 2026.
Organised by the BIPoC Referat, University of Münster, the festival has received more than 2,000 film submissions from over 120 countries. From these submissions, a collective curatorial process is now shaping the program for 23–27 August 2026 (confirmed).

The evening will bring together volunteers, interns, collaborators, artists, and members of the community who are helping bring the festival into being. It will also be a gathering for those who are interested in joining the festival as volunteers or interns and contributing to the collective process of building the first edition together.
During the gathering, we will share updates on the festival’s curatorial process, program structure, volunteer coordination, and upcoming public events.

We invite you to join us for an evening of conversation, connection, and the ongoing work of creating a space for films, performances, discussions, workshops, and encounters that challenge dominant narratives and engage with ongoing histories of land, migration, memory, power, resistance, and possible futures.

Festival passes are currently available: https://buytickets.at/bipocreferatuniversityofmnster/2311201

Each festival pass helps sustain a BIPoC-led grassroots cultural initiative built through community support and solidarity contributions, without corporate sponsorship or state cultural funding.
